Video Editor

Reporting to the Vice President of Creative Media, the Video Editor will be a highly motivated individual with proven video editing skills and experience who also has professional level skills and experience in a complementary area such as motion graphic design, video production, writing and/or project management. Demonstrated creativity and proficiency with one or more Non-Linear Editing (NLE) platforms and related technology is required. Avid experience is preferred.

Applicants must be creative and capable of working independently on design and editing projects, as well as able to take direction and work successfully as part of a team. This position involves working under pressure in an environment where decisions are often made quickly. To meet deadlines, it will sometimes be necessary for the Video Editor to work beyond usual office hours and on weekends as well. Some overnight travel may be necessary on occasion.

In addition to the above video editing related background, the ideal candidate will also have demonstrated skill and experience in at least one of the following areas complementary to video editing: graphic/motion graphic design; corporate-industrial level videography; scriptwriting for business video; and/or project management. Motion graphic design and/or videography experience is preferred.



QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Film and Visual Arts, Visual Communications, Broadcast Media program, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a video editor with a commercial video production facility, cable or broadcast entity, corporate video department or similar environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of video production processes and equipment, video encoding, and content delivery networks.
• Basic knowledge of video codecs and containers, such as Flash, Windows Media, H.264, and others.
• Willingness to travel outside of Philadelphia area on occasion

Abilities/Skills

• Demonstrated creativity and proficiency with one or more the following NLE platforms and related technology, including Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere. Avid experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with audio editing, including production music editing, voice-over narration editing, and audio track layering and mixing.
• Demonstrated creativity and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly PhotoShop and AfterEffects.
• In addition to the above video editing related background, the ideal candidate will also have demonstrated skill and experience in at least one of the following areas: graphic/motion graphic design; corporate-industrial level videography; scriptwriting for business video; and/or project management.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office programs and use of the Web.
• Ability to work professionally and successfully with all levels of personnel in a wide variety of contexts, from C-level executives to fellow employees.
